I grew up close to Hamilton, Scotland and studied Computer Networking at both City Of Glasgow College and Edinburgh Napier University. While studying I worked in a supermarket working mostly in specialty departments; Bakery, Deli, Food To Go. I also did some Freelance IT work when it was offered to me.
After completing my time at Edinburgh Napier I was offered a managerial position at one of the convenience stores in Edinburgh City Centre. When management restructuring led to my position being made redundant I took the chance to reset and explore before rejoining the workforce. I packed my bags and off I went to New Zealand. Initially I only intended to spend a year or two here before moving on to Australia then on to the rest of the world but here we are almost 8 years later and I'm now a Permanent resident of New Zealand.
Outside of work I've been a keen cyclist since I was a kid and have found a love for water and snow based sports in my 20’s such as Swimming, Kayaking and snowboarding. A knee injury has hindered some of these activities over the last year but I look forward to getting back to them soon.
I always seem to find myself tinkering with something trying to fix or make something. One of the earliest memories I have was taking apart a VCR as it had stopped working trying to make it work again. You can read more about some of my other hobbies on my Blog.
